Ever wondered what would happen if you put a slightly unhinged engineer on a train hurtling through the endless void of space? Well, buckle up. This is the tale of surviving 100 gates aboard a floating train powered by mysterious energy, with danger at every turn, bizarre creatures around every corner, and a whole lot of chaos in between. Let’s break down the journey—from humble beginnings, through upgrades and monster fights, to deep sci-fi puzzles, alien friendships, and finally, a glimpse of something far more sinister.

Beginnings in the Void – From Scrap to Smelter

Our hero awakens on a barely-functional space trolley, greeted only by the vast silence of the void. First steps? Gather whatever floats by. Smashing into rocks, collecting bits of metal, and building the essentials—a research table, smelter, and workbench. Early on, upgrades are limited, but everything hinges on getting your production up and running. Blueprints unlocked, resources refined, and storage built—it’s the quiet before the chaos.

Gate Travel and Station Stops – Exploration and Combat

As the train rolls through its first gates, it becomes clear that void travel isn’t always peaceful. Strange lights lead to abandoned stations filled with loot, enemies, and sometimes puzzles. Our engineer encounters gun-toting goons, mysterious terminals, and even slot machines (without coins, sadly). With every gate passed, the train expands—new wagons added, stations explored, and threats faced head-on with a gradually improving arsenal.

But not every enemy is human. Space sharks begin to stalk the train, interrupting work and generally being pests. Limited to a revolver early on, combat requires patience, headshots, and steady nerves. And when things go wrong, they go verywrong—but there’s always another station up ahead.

Pets and Prophecies – Rufus and Viola Join the Crew

Amidst the scavenging and shootouts, a new element emerges: alien eggs. Hatching one gives us Rufus—a wide-eyed, adorable alien creature who quickly becomes a loyal companion. Feed them mushrooms, build a cozy bed, and they’ll help with tasks on the train, even cooking or reloading weapons.

As stations grow more elaborate, so do the mechanics. Prophecy machines offer buffs, but also increased danger. One such prophecy increases wood spawn rates—but also triggers more shark attacks. Great for your inventory. Not so great for your heart rate.

Later, our engineer welcomes a second alien, Viola, after unlocking a second wagon. With new crafting stations like the kitchen, ammo box, and gardening bins, the train starts to feel less like a survival cart and more like a cozy mobile fortress.

Firing Up the Armory – From Pistols to Machine Guns

Combat escalates. With the Armory unlocked and enough parts collected, the engineer builds his first machine gun. Goodbye revolver, hello serious firepower. Now goons fall faster, barricades crumble, and waves of enemies don’t seem quite as terrifying.

Even better, completing challenges and collecting rare loot opens up crafting upgrades like handrails, grappling hooks, and backpacks for better mobility and inventory space. With the new winch and grappling hook, traversing the void becomes safer and more strategic—especially when combined with puzzle-solving on remote void islands.

Spirit Trials and Alien Challenges – The Arena Awaits

One key element of progression lies in alien challenge islands. After being whisked away by spirit pigeons (don’t ask), the engineer faces wave-based arenas guarded by monstrous spiders and swarms of void creatures. Every wave completed grants better rewards—but die, and it’s all gone.

Wave one is simple. Wave two is rough. Wave three? Absolutely terrifying, ending with a towering spider that threatens everything. But with bandages, armor, and a well-modded gun, victory is possible. Survive, loot, return to the train—then upgrade again.

Secrets, Scientists, and Voidfall

The story thickens at a strange, glyph-covered station. Puzzles unlock hidden doors, diaries reveal a fugitive scientist, and alien tech pulses with cryptic energy. Curiosity gets the better of our engineer, and activating one mysterious artifact unleashes a booby trap. Explosions rock the base, forcing a desperate escape into a gate.

But there’s no relief on the other side. A new cutscene unfolds: the lights fail, a strange creature attacks, and the train is sucked into a nightmarish dimension. It’s a turning point in the journey—proof that things are far from over.

Summary and Looking Ahead

Over the course of 100 gates, the train grows from a junk cart into a high-tech mobile base. The engineer survives goons, sharks, puzzles, and massive spiders—all while crafting, expanding, and bonding with adorable alien friends. Challenges mount, but so does the loot. The deeper you go, the more complex and dangerous the void becomes.

From humble roots to full-blown sci-fi madness, Void Train proves to be as charming as it is chaotic. And with Rufus and Viola by your side, you’re never alone out there—even if you are constantly under attack. Stick around for Part Two as we unravel the fate of the scientist and uncover more about the enigmatic force behind the gates.
