The Artemis Golden Pistol is a rare and powerful variant of the standard silenced pistol in Prey. With increased damage and a striking gold finish, it’s both effective and stylish. This guide walks you through the steps to unlock this hidden gem.

1. Start in the Arboretum

  • Location: Head to the Arboretum area of Talos I.
  • Find the House: Look for a small house perched on a rocky ledge.
  • Look Behind the House: Follow the path around the back and descend until you see a sign labeled “Looking Glass.”
  • Break the Looking Glass: Smash the screen to reveal a hidden passage and enter.

2. Climb the Shaft

  • Use the GLOO Cannon to build platforms and climb the vertical shaft.
  • At the top, move forward and jump onto the rock shelf beneath the house.

3. Loot Marietta Kyrkos’ Body

  • Search the Corpse: You’ll find:
    • Jada Marks’ Keycard
    • A Transcribe (audio log)
  • New Mission: This will trigger the side quest “The Golden Gun.”

4. Find Zachary West’s Corpse

  • Go to Deep Storage: Located at the northern end of the Arboretum.
  • Take the Elevator Down: At the Deep Storage entrance.
  • Search Zachary West’s Body: Loot the Crew Quarters Keycard.

5. Access the Crew Quarters

  • Return to the Arboretum Elevator and ride it back up.
  • Follow the path to the left to reach the Crew Quarters.
  • Use the keycard from West’s body to unlock the door.

6. Locate Jada Marks’ Cabin

  • Go to Crew Cabins A.
  • Her cabin is the first room on the right.
  • Use Jada’s keycard to unlock the door.

7. Open the Safe

  • Inside the cabin, you’ll find a safe at the back of the room.
  • The keycode appears automatically when you interact with it.
  • Open the safe and claim your Artemis Golden Pistol.

Why the Artemis Golden Pistol Is Worth It

  • Superior Stats:
    • Fully upgraded, it deals 14 damage, compared to the standard pistol’s 11.
    • Maintains silenced functionality—great for stealth takedowns.
  • Sleek Aesthetic:
    • Its golden finish adds elegance, making it a trophy piece as much as a weapon.

Fun Fact

  • The pistol is named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt and the moon—perfectly suited for stalking Typhon under the gaze of space’s cold light.
