The Heretic trophy in Resident Evil Village requires players to find and destroy all 20 Goats of Warding, which are scattered throughout the game world. These collectibles can be tricky to locate, but with this guide, you’ll know exactly where to find each one. Be aware that some of these areas become inaccessible later in the game, so it’s best to destroy them as you go.

Goats of Warding Locations

Village

1. Village Center (After Lycan Ambush) – Located on a shrine near the church railings.
2. Church Roof – Above the gate on the church roof.
3. Fallow Plot – Navigate through the cornfield, jump both fences, take the right up the stairs, and find it on the back wall.

Castle Dimitrescu

4. Mines Exit – Found outside near a scarecrow.
5. Basement (Hall of Ablution Puzzle) – After solving the puzzle and draining the blood, descend the ladder and check the left corner.
6. Attic – Requires shooting all five bells in the Atelier to open access to the attic; turn around after climbing the ladder.

Returning to Village

7. Lone Road (After Castle Dimitrescu) – Turn left down the staircase where Lycans attack; under the bridge.
8. Tractor Pathway – After acquiring the crank, lift the tractor and head down. Find the goat on top of a wooden shack.
9. Graveyard (Iron Insignia Gate) – Inside the graveyard, to the right of one of the crypts.

House Beneviento Area

10. Suspension Bridge – Look left while crossing the bridge to spot another bridge with a goat on it.
11. Outside House Beneviento – Instead of entering the house, go around the left side, down the staircase, and look through the railings.

Reservoir and Moreau’s Section

12. First Windmill – Located near some logs on the far side of the windmill.
13. Floating Log in Reservoir – During the platform puzzle sequence, look up and right before crossing the moving platform.
14. After Defeating Moreau – When the water is drained, return to the windmill area and find the goat along the previously inaccessible path.

Stronghold and Otto’s Mill

15. Otto’s Mill (After Moreau, on the way to Stronghold) – From the “Good Luck” sign, go left through the cornfield, enter the stream, and find the shrine under the mill.
16. Lycan Stronghold (Spiral Staircase) – After making your way through the stronghold, check the bottom of the staircase before squeezing through the wall.

Heisenberg’s Factory

17. Ventilation Shaft (B2 Level) – After the cutscene where the fan tries to suck you in, turn around instead of proceeding forward. Find the goat near the large digger shovels.
18. Elevator (B1 Level to B3) – This is one of the trickiest goats to get. On the left side of a red girder, five levels down. You can shoot it while on foot or use Chris’s machine gun later in the game.
19. Control Room (B1 Level, After Sturm Fight) – Use Heisenberg’s key, go left, crawl through a passage, and find it in the right corner.

Final Area (Mega Mycet Chamber)

20. Miranda’s Lab (As Chris, Before Final Boss) – After the cutscene in the lab, take a right instead of heading toward Miranda’s chamber. The goat is in the darkness near a statue.

Final Tips

• If struggling to see the goats, turn up the brightness in the settings.
• Use a shotgun or pistol to destroy the goats easily.
