Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes features a complex attribute system that can significantly impact your characters’ effectiveness in battle. However, the game does a poor job of explaining what each attribute does, leaving many players confused. In this guide, we’ll break down each attribute, how they influence gameplay, and which stats you should prioritize to make the game easier.

1. Strength: The King of Physical Damage Strength affects all physical damage types in Eiyuden Chronicle, including Blunt, Thrust, Grapple, Slash, and Aerial/Throw attacks. This attribute also impacts any physical attack performed using a Rune-Lens. For instance, Nowa’s Swinging Slash is directly influenced by Strength.

Since the game favors physical damage over magical damage, Strength is arguably the most crucial attribute. High-Strength characters like Iago, Yusuke, Nowa, Galdorf, and Yuferius can deliver massive damage without consuming MP, making them indispensable, especially in higher difficulty settings like Double SP/MP cost.

2. Magic Attack: For the Spellcasters Magic Attack governs all elemental damage types, such as Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Any attack displaying an elemental icon relies on this attribute rather than Strength. Notably, healing spells do not scale with Magic Attack, and some spells have fixed damage values regardless of this stat.

For characters who focus on magic, like Isha and Zagi, a high Magic Attack stat is essential to deal significant damage. On the other hand, characters like Prunella with low Magic Attack perform poorly despite having elemental attacks.

3. Dexterity (Skill): Accuracy and More Dexterity primarily affects the accuracy of attacks, but its influence doesn’t stop there. It may also impact:

  • Critical Hit Chance
  • Critical Hit Avoidance
  • Possibly Block and Dodge Chance (unconfirmed)

For characters who rely on Grapple-type attacks, Dexterity is particularly important due to their naturally lower accuracy. Accessories like Pearl and Skill runes can help mitigate this weakness.

4. Speed: Turn Order and Evasion Speed determines the turn order in combat, allowing faster characters to act before enemies. While many players believe Speed also influences evasion chance, this is not definitively confirmed. Nevertheless, a high Speed stat is beneficial for:

  • Acting first to eliminate threats early.
  • Facilitating emergency healing.
  • Maximizing damage output in difficult fights.

Speed becomes even more vital on higher difficulty settings, where acting quickly can prevent enemy skills from overwhelming your party.

5. Physical and Magical Defense: Staying Alive

  • Physical Defense: Reduces damage from Blunt, Slash, Thrust, Grapple, and Aerial/Throw attacks.
  • Magical Defense: Mitigates damage from all elemental types.

High defense stats are arguably the most crucial attributes in the game, especially for frontliners like Leon, who can excel against elemental damage with sufficient Magical Defense.

6. Luck: The Mystery Stat Luck is one of the least understood stats, but it supposedly influences:

  • Critical Hit Chance
  • Stun Rate for Normal Attacks
  • Dodge/Evasion Chance
  • Cover Chance

However, Luck does not affect item drop rates. While its exact mechanics are unclear, prioritizing Luck can still provide noticeable benefits in combat.

7. Best Attributes to Focus On Given the game’s favoring of physical damage, Strength is the most valuable stat for offense. For defense, focusing on both Physical and Magical Defense will significantly improve your survivability. Speed is a close second, providing the ability to act first and mitigate incoming damage early.

For magic-based characters, Magic Attack is essential but less impactful overall due to the game’s bias towards physical damage.

Summary

  • Offensive Priority: Strength > Magic Attack
  • Defensive Priority: Physical Defense = Magical Defense
  • Utility: Speed > Dexterity > Luck

By focusing on these stats, you’ll be better equipped to handle Eiyuden Chronicle’s toughest challenges. Keep experimenting and adjusting as you recruit new allies and unlock stronger abilities.

Good luck, and may your heroes always triumph in battle!
