Glitches in video games can take many forms. Some are harmless and amusing, like T-posing enemies or wacky physics bugs. Others are game-breaking, making progress difficult or even impossible. Then there are exploits—the kind of glitches that give players an advantage, whether by making things easier, faster, or more rewarding. Borderlands 3 is no exception, and to this day, several powerful exploits remain unpatched, allowing players to farm loot, duplicate items, and even supercharge their Vault Hunters.

This guide will cover some of the most useful exploits in Borderlands 3, explaining how they work and how you can use them to your advantage. Whether you’re looking for better loot, more money, or an overpowered build, these tricks will make your Borderlands 3 experience even more fun.

1. The Photo Mode Glitch

Photo Mode is a fantastic addition to Borderlands 3, allowing players to capture their adventures in style. However, it also comes with an exploit that lets you interact with objects from a distance. By entering Photo Mode and then spamming the interact button upon exiting, you can trigger switches, loot chests, and activate objects regardless of how far away you are.

Best Uses:

  • Collecting loot that has fallen out of bounds without using the Lost Loot Machine.
  • Skipping platforming sections, such as opening the red chest in Dump Truck Tower without climbing.
  • Gaining early access to areas like Fort Sunshine and the Vestage Bank in the Bounty of Blood DLC.

2. Mail Duplication Glitch

Mail rewards in Borderlands 3 come from various sources, including manufacturer loyalty rewards, crew challenges, and gifts from friends. With this exploit, you can claim the same mailed item multiple times, giving you endless duplicates.

How to Do It:

  1. Open your mail and claim a weapon.
  2. Without closing the menu, switch to the EchoCast tab.
  3. Switch back to the mail tab, and the weapon should reappear, ready to be claimed again.

Uses:

  • Easily acquiring multiple copies of rare weapons.
  • Selling duplicates for unlimited money.
  • Stockpiling weapons with different anointments.

3. Golden and Diamond Key Duplication

Golden and Diamond Keys are rare and highly valuable, but they can be duplicated easily with a simple trick.

How to Do It:

  1. Have unclaimed Golden or Diamond Keys in your mail.
  2. Disconnect from the internet while in-game.
  3. Exit to the character screen and reload your game.
  4. Claim the keys, then quit and continue again.
  5. The keys should be back in your mail, ready to claim again.

Why It’s Useful:

  • Lets you open the Golden Chest or Diamond Armory as many times as you want.
  • Provides a steady supply of high-tier loot without relying on Shift codes.
  • Saves time farming Vault Cards for Diamond Keys.

4. Infinite Money with the Loot Jabber Glitch

On Eden-6, purple-colored Loot Jabbers carry barrels that drop huge amounts of money. With the right weapon, you can turn them into an infinite money generator.

Steps:

  1. Find a Loot Jabber (best near Naughty Peak on Eden-6).
  2. Kill it without destroying the barrel it carries.
  3. Equip the Night Flyer pistol (drops from Rakman on Carnivora).
  4. Shoot the barrel with the Night Flyer—it will spit out money indefinitely.

Why It Works: The Night Flyer always leaves enemies at 1 HP, preventing the barrel from breaking. This method provides about $200,000 per second and can be enhanced with anointments and the Predatory Lending SMG (tracks total cash as ammo).

5. Black Market Vending Machine Exploit

The Black Market Vending Machine updates weekly, offering top-tier weapons. Normally, you can only use it once every 30 minutes—but this glitch lets you farm it infinitely.

How to Do It:

  1. Player 1 loads into the game and activates a New-U station.
  2. Player 2 joins, checks the vending machine, and buys items.
  3. Player 2 saves and quits without Player 1 leaving the session.
  4. Player 2 reloads and repeats the process.

Why It’s Useful:

  • Lets you get multiple high-tier weapons from the vendor.
  • Saves time waiting for the timer to reset.
  • Makes it easy to farm for perfect anointments.

6. Stacked Action Skill Cooldowns

Normally, action skill cooldowns take time, but this exploit allows you to shorten them drastically, sometimes even to zero seconds.

How It Works:

  1. Spend 50 Guardian Rank points in the Green tree to unlock Topped Off (increases cooldown rate when shields are full).
  2. Respec your skill tree at a New-U station.
  3. The cooldown reduction effect from Topped Off becomes permanent.
  4. Repeat the process to stack the effect multiple times.

Results:

  • Amara’s Phaseslam can have a cooldown as low as 3 seconds.
  • Zane’s Mantis Cannon can fire almost non-stop.
  • Works especially well with action skill damage anointments.

7. Infinite Amp Damage (Toboggan Glitch)

The Toboggan artifact grants 100% amp damage when sliding. This exploit makes the bonus permanent.

How to Do It:

  1. Equip the Toboggan artifact.
  2. Slide to activate the amp damage effect.
  3. Fast travel before the shield disappears.

Why It Works: The amp bonus persists permanently unless you slide again or unequip the artifact. This method provides free 100% bonus amp damage for any build.

8. Permanent Revolter Buff

The Revolter shield gives 200% bonus shock damage for 15 seconds when depleted. This glitch makes the effect permanent.

Steps:

  1. Equip the Revolter shield and let it activate.
  2. Drop the shield once the effect starts.
  3. Equip a different shield, then pick up the Revolter.

Effect: The 200% shock damage boost remains indefinitely until you re-equip the Revolter. This exploit works even in Arms Race, making it the easiest way to boost damage without gear constraints.

Conclusion

These glitches provide a variety of benefits, from faster farming to massive power boosts. While Gearbox has patched some exploits in the past, these still work and are unlikely to be removed. Whether you’re farming for loot, stacking damage, or just having fun, these exploits can enhance your Borderlands 3 experience.
