Welcome to The Lab, one of the more logic-heavy puzzle rooms in Escape Simulator. This room mixes chemistry, electronics, and robotics in a series of puzzles that require observation, experimentation, and understanding how different elements interact. Here’s how to solve it from start to finish.

1. Start with the Color Keypad Puzzle

  • Find three colored molecule models (red, white, blue).
    • One is displayed.
    • Two are in a nearby drawer.
  • Read the Medical Log on the tablet — it explains that each molecule has a different number of colored nodes.
  • To solve the keypad:
    • Red: 3, 3, 2 → Outlier is 2
    • White: 4, 3, 4 → Outlier is 3
    • Blue: 2, 3, 2 → Outlier is 3
  • Input 2 – 3 – 3 into the keypad.
  • Unlocks a cabinet with a controller and blowtorch.

2. Controller Puzzle: Periodic Table Math

  • Inspect the back of the controller to find a glowing panel.
  • It shows numbers tied to element abbreviations from the periodic table.
  • Examples:
    • O = 8, Ne = 10 (from “ONE” = 1)
    • Th = 90, Re = 75 → “THRE” ~ Three → 3
    • Es = 99, IIX = 119 → “SIX” → 6
  • Final passcode: 1 – 3 – 6
  • Unlocks controller access to devices — connect to the Robot Vacuum.

3. Clear the Vent with the Blowtorch

  • Inspect and activate the blowtorch by pressing the red trigger.
  • Use it to trace and melt the grate over the vent.
  • Also burn the grate blocking the nitrogen storage room in advance.

4. Use Robot Vacuum to Reach Nitrogen

  • Navigate the robot through the now-open vent.
  • The controls are clunky — guide it to hit the table leg inside the side room.
  • This knocks the nitrogen canister to the floor.
  • Retrieve the nitrogen and bring it to the main workspace.

5. Craft Sodium Aluminate (for Crystal Recipe)

  • Check the recipe: Sodium Hydroxide + Aluminum = Sodium Aluminate
  • Get Sodium Hydroxide from a drawer.
  • Get Aluminum scraps from the metal recycling bin — use only the small pieces.
  • Use the machine:
    • Insert sodium hydroxide.
    • Place one aluminum scrap in the slot.
  • Combine to create Sodium Aluminate.

6. Craft the Crystal

  • Insert both Sodium Aluminate and Nitrogen into the machine.
  • Use the provided tiles to recreate the shape shown on the Post-it Note:
    • Start with corner and edge pieces.
    • Continue building out the crystal’s structure using trial-and-error.
  • Once completed, drag the crystal slot scanner into position.
  • Insert the crystal and begin the repair.

7. Craft the Coolant

  • Remove the crystal and clear the shape tiles.
  • Retrieve Helium from the table and insert it into the machine.
  • Use new shape tiles to recreate the coolant’s diagram:
    • Match hard edges, peaks, and troughs as shown.
    • Complete the design.
  • Insert the final shape to create the Coolant.
  • Plug it into the bottom slot under the central device.

8. Escape

  • Once both the Crystal and Coolant are installed, the center crystal fills up.
  • This unlocks the main escape door.
  • Exit and complete the room!

Tips for Success:

  • Periodic table matching requires attention to both symbol and atomic number.
  • Use trial-and-error on shape-building puzzles.
  • Navigating the robot can take a few tries — keep at it!
