In this Blue Protocol video, we dive deep into the Faux Breaker class, a powerhouse melee option that blends giant hammer smashes with short-range cannon shots. After trying out the Spell Weaver, I decided to switch gears and explore a slower, heavy-hitting melee class. Surprisingly, the Faux Breaker has become one of my top picks for the full game thanks to its versatility, survivability, and satisfying AoE damage.
Combat Overview: Faux Breaker operates as a mid-range bruiser, using a giant hammer that doubles as a cannon. Its kit includes basic directional attacks:
- Back + Basic Attack: Downward slam (highest damage output)
- Left/Right + Basic Attack: Sweeping explosive swings
- Forward + Basic Attack: Earth-infused jab that builds Earth element
The class has a unique bullet system. These bullets, displayed under your character, fuel various abilities. Tapping right-click shoots a cannonball, while holding right-click reloads your bullets. Once you’re out of bullets, you can tap to instantly reload and gain two bonus bullets.
Abilities and Resource Management: Most abilities cost bullets, and the playstyle involves depleting all resources before instant reloading to maximize uptime. Key abilities include:
- Jump Slam: Massive AoE leap attack
- Earth Slam: Deals significant AoE Earth damage
- Pull & Stun: Fires a projectile that pulls and stuns enemies
- Cannon Shot: High-damage ranged attack (hold to aim)
Each ability has synergy with the bullet system, and good management leads to higher efficiency and burst potential.
Ultimate Ability: The Faux Breaker’s ultimate is a large AoE ground slam that knocks up enemies and creates persistent Earth damage over time. It serves as a powerful panic button in group and solo play.
Skill Tree & Progression: Despite being in Japanese during beta, the skill tree reveals numerous ability upgrades, buffs, and alternative (A/B) versions that change how abilities behave. Some of these offer:
- Super Armor During Activation
- Self Buffs with Damage Reduction
- Earth Elemental Enhancements
- Gap Closers and AoE Spinners
Sustain Mechanics: Faux Breaker has a unique healing bullet system. A specific ability recharges bullets and modifies them to heal you every time you consume one. This adds self-sustain and reduces potion reliance.
Playstyle & Performance: In practice, Faux Breaker is:
- Extremely effective in AoE farming
- Surprisingly mobile for a heavy class
- Capable of burst damage and crowd control
- Resilient thanks to armor buffs and healing bullets
Even at level 11 with a level 1 weapon, it outperforms expectations, making it great for solo leveling and group play.
Conclusion: Faux Breaker blends hard-hitting melee with ranged utility and unique resource management. If you enjoy weighty, impactful classes with flashy combos and strong sustain, this is a top-tier pick. If you’re a fan of Monster Hunter-style weapons like hammers or greatswords, this class will feel right at home.
