Whether you’re just starting or deep into your journey across the Tree of Life, Biomutant has a lot of hidden systems and powerful tools that aren’t immediately obvious. Here’s a set of top-tier tips and tricks—some combat, some exploration, some progression—that will help you avoid early frustrations and unlock the game’s full potential.

1. Master Air Launch Combos Through Perfect Parries

Watch for the white comic-style flash above enemies when they attack. Tap your block button (LB on controller) right before the hit lands to perfect parry and stagger them. Immediately follow with a melee attack, then tap block again to launch enemies into the air.

While airborne, spam your melee combo for a devastating juggle. This trick works against both standard enemies and mini-bosses. For larger brutes, you don’t need the second block—just hit them, and your character will vault over their head into a combo.

2. Unlock and Use Super Wung-Fu Wisely

Super Wung-Fu is your ultimate mode—but it only activates after using three different special Wung-Fu attacks(unlocked via perk points for each weapon type).

Once triggered:

  • Basic attacks become a rapid combo that stuns.
  • Jump + Melee = Ground Slam AoE.
  • Jump + Gun = Slow-motion “Max Payne mode” with rapid fire.

Invest early in unlocking at least two special Wung-Fu abilities per weapon to consistently trigger Super Wung-Fu.

3. Farming Resources: Dismantle & Resource Totems

Late-game crafting and gear upgrades require a lot of materials:

  • Resource Totems (tall pillars in the wild) are critical—collect from them every time.
  • Dismantle gear early and often. Don’t wait until your inventory is overflowing.
  • Sort by alphabetical order and scrap lower-tier duplicates.

Also, dismantle old weapons instead of selling them—you’ll keep rare parts and attachments you may want to reuse.

4. Civilians Can Lead to Secret Locations

In towns and wild areas, NPCs with exclamation marks often:

  • Trigger side quests with solid XP rewards.
  • Lead to named NPCs with legendary gear rewards.

After completing their initial task, talk to them again. You may see a new dialogue option (“Are you hiding anything?”). If your barter stat is high enough, or your aura aligns, they may reveal a secret location marked with a question mark on your map.

5. Activate Every Signpost (Fast Travel Flags)

Every yellow flag in the world is a fast travel point—but you must interact with it manually to unlock it. Do this whenever you pass one, so you can:

  • Warp quickly to far-off quests.
  • Avoid repeat long-distance travel.

It’s a lifesaver once side objectives start stacking up.

6. How to Get More Upgrade Points

There are three types of upgrade resources in Biomutant:

  • Perk Points: Earned via leveling and from books found in enemy outposts.
  • Bio Points: Found in green containers and by killing insect-like enemies, especially in biohazard zones or underground.
  • Psi Points: Found at shrines or statues (some light, some dark). Interaction grants points and shifts your aura.

Choose shrine interactions based on your build—certain Psi abilities require Light or Dark Aura levels.

7. Don’t Miss Training Equipment Bonuses

Keep an eye out for weight benches and training gear scattered in towns and secret bunkers. Interacting with them boosts your base stats and counts toward certain side quests.

These small boosts can stack up and improve your build passively—especially helpful for survivability.

8. Use the Jagni Staff for Mid-Air Gliding

The Jagni tribe weapon—a staff—has a hidden trick. If you:

  • Jump and hold the melee button in the air, it functions like a mini helicopter, letting you hover or glide briefly.

This helps you:

  • Cross gaps.
  • Reach otherwise inaccessible ledges.
  • Glide off cliffs to scout or escape.

Later, you’ll unlock a helicopter backpack, but this staff trick is available much earlier. Combine with double jumps for maximum air distance.

Final Word: Biomutant is a game that hides a surprising amount of depth in its systems. From the combat’s hidden combos to the subtle systems around gear and exploration, there’s always more to discover. Get curious, experiment, and interact with everything—and you’ll be rewarded with powerful tools and cooler gameplay.

More legendary loot, gliding gear, and rare powers await. Keep exploring.
