Getting your hands on the Mekton in Biomutant is a key step to surviving the deadly hypoxia zones and facing off against one of the four World Eaters. Here’s a simple breakdown on how to unlock and use your very own Mech.

Step 1: Progress the Main Story

To begin your journey toward unlocking the Mekton, you must reach the part of the main storyline that sends you to meet Gizmo, located in Bricktown.

Step 2: Enter the Train Station

Once you’re in Bricktown, enter the train station through the main entrance. You’ll immediately face a large group of enemies. The Moth Mouth mutation ability can be a huge help here, causing enemies to turn on each other and reduce the incoming pressure.

Step 3: Use the Rocket to Enter Gizmo’s Lab

After clearing the enemies, head inside and interact with the rocket. You’ll be treated to a short cutscene where the rocket crashes through a door, opening up the path to the basement.

Step 4: Meet Gizmo

Take the elevator down to find Gizmo. He’ll explain his situation and ask for your help finding a crate of parts to help rebuild the Mekton. These parts are located outside in a hypoxia (low oxygen) zone.

Step 5: Brave the Hypoxia Zone

Exit through the garage door near the Mekton. You don’t need a full resistance suit just yet—there are safe oxygen spots along the way.

  • Head left from the garage door.
  • Enter a building with an oxygen-safe zone.
  • Climb the nearby ledge and carefully cross a tightrope.
  • Avoid falling into the oil pit below, which causes instant death.
  • Reach another safe zone for oxygen recovery.

Step 6: Collect Mekton Parts

Inside the safe building, you’ll find your first Mekton Parts Box. These can include items like torpedo launchers or armor upgrades. Part contents may vary per playthrough.

Step 7: Return to Gizmo

Go back to Gizmo with the parts. He will install them on the Mekton and give you access to pilot it.

What the Mekton Can Do

Once activated, the Mekton becomes an incredibly versatile tool:

  • Shoot enemies with its ranged weapon.
  • Melee attack for close-range combat.
  • Suck up oil from pools to clear new pathways.
  • Magnet-fish loot from special nodes using a built-in fishing line.

The Mekton is also required for facing one of the World Eaters and exploring more of the Dead Zone safely.

With these steps, you should be able to unlock and operate the Mekton without much trouble. Good luck exploring the wastelands with your new robotic companion!
