Crampons are a game-changing item designed to reduce climbing strain, improve ice travel, and minimize sprain risk.

- Mobility Penalty: -5%
- Protection Bonus: +3%
Weight:
- Crampons: 0.5 kg
- Improvised Crampons: 0.75 kg
Buffs (Bugged vs Intended):
Standard Crampons:
- 50% reduced sprain risk on slopes
- 40% reduced stamina drain while rope climbing (bugged; intended: 60%)
- Faster climbing speed when below 25% fatigue
- +1 second on weak ice (20% increase)
Improvised Crampons:
- 70% reduced sprain risk (bugged; intended: 30%)
- 60% reduced climbing stamina drain (bugged; intended: 40%)
- +0.5 seconds on weak ice (10% increase)
Usage Recommendations:
- Use regular crampons for better all-around benefit, especially for climbing while fatigued and for beachcombing.
- Use improvised crampons if you don’t have access to the standard version.
Note: Crampons degrade quickly when worn, but slowly when stored. Repair with 2x Scrap Metal. Also, crampons only function if you’re wearing shoes.
