Wobbly Life’s 7.6 update brought a major overhaul to one of its most peaceful pastimes—fishing. With the introduction of a brand-new fishing book, additional biomes, and a fresh incentive to catch every fish in the game, the waters around Wobbly Island just became a whole lot more exciting. Whether you’re a completionist chasing the new achievement or someone simply looking to earn some chill cash, this guide covers everything you need to know.

Fishing Book and New Goals

The new fishing book tracks your progress through Wobbly Life’s diverse aquatic wildlife. Each fish you catch is logged by biome and rarity. Catching every fish earns you not only a satisfying achievement but also a unique unlockable vehicle—making the fishing grind both challenging and rewarding.

There are now seven fishing biomes:

  1. Deep Sea
  2. Shallow Sea
  3. Docks
  4. Tropical Sea
  5. Coral Reef
  6. Fresh Water
  7. Ice Fishing

Each biome contains a variety of fish, categorized by rarity:

  • Blue: Common
  • Green: Rare
  • Purple: Legendary (marked by a glowing burst when caught)

Dockside Fishing: The Triple Biome Hub

Start your fishing journey at the fishing mission dock on the main island. From this central location, you can access three biomes: the Deep Sea, Shallow Sea, and Docks. Jump in the boat and set course toward the wind turbines.

  • Deep Sea: Here you’ll find fish like the Flying Fish, Grouper, and the elusive Legendary Marlin.
  • Shallow Sea: As you drift closer to the turbines, you’ll transition into this biome, where Carp, Catfish, and the Legendary Sawfish await.
  • Docks: After a rewarding haul from sea fishing, head toward the nearby dock area and hop into a second fishing boat. Expect to catch Prawn, Oysters, and Starfish.

Time Commitment: Fishing is fun, but it’s also time-consuming. One test run in the Shallow Sea took about 32 real-life minutes and still didn’t complete the fish list. Hauling fish back to the shack can take additional time—unloading a full boat may take 9 minutes in real time, and nets you roughly $432.

Tip: Use a controller! Fishing with a mouse and keyboard can be awkward. Plug in an Xbox or PS controller for a smoother experience.

Jungle Island: The Tropical Trifecta

Fly your helicopter to the fishing shack on Jungle Island to access three more biomes: Tropical Sea, Coral Reef, and Fresh Water.

  • Tropical Sea: Pull away from the dock and you’ll find Sea Cucumbers, Angelfish, and Sunfish.
  • Coral Reef: Head around the coastline to the island’s edge. Here, you’ll encounter Pufferfish (great for potion-making, if this were Minecraft), Green Seahorses, and more Angelfish.
  • Fresh Water: This lake lies a short walk inland, recognizable to veterans who’ve done the Ghost Knight mission. It offers Trout, a rather unsettling Salmon, and the formidable Legendary Pink Salmon.

This trio offers a scenic and productive detour from the main island, with lush visuals and plenty of fishing poles conveniently placed.

The Final Biome: Ice Fishing at the Mountain Base

The newest biome—Ice Fishing—is nestled near the Mountain Base, close to the second (now-thawing) pond. It’s easily accessible with a bit of flying.

This biome features four ice fishing holes and includes:

  • Snail Fish
  • Arctic Cod
  • Legendary Spider Crab (which apparently prefers not to let go once caught)

While this biome is more isolated, it rounds off the full collection needed to complete your fishing book.

Is It Worth It?

Fishing in Wobbly Life may not be the fastest money-making method, but it’s relaxing, consistent, and now comes with a long-term goal. Between the legendary catches, tranquil views, and the satisfaction of completing your fishing book, it’s a great addition to your in-game activities.

Just don’t forget to bring a truck if you’re hauling a big catch back—and perhaps set aside some real-world time if you’re aiming to catch them all.

Final Thoughts

With the fishing system more robust than ever, Wobbly Life’s oceans, lakes, and icy waters invite you to slow down, cast a line, and discover what’s swimming just beneath the surface. Whether you’re angling for achievements or just vibing on a boat, this expanded fishing update offers something truly special.

Happy fishing, Wobblies!
