Unlocking every image in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is one of the more satisfying completion goals in the game. This guide walks you through how to unlock every CG, background, secret poem, sketch, and bonus image. Whether you’re going for 100% data completion or just want to explore all the art, here’s everything you need to know.

Understanding the Gallery

  • Images without an “Acquisition Procedure” listed are unlocked by default.
  • If an image has an acquisition note, you’ll need to take specific actions to unlock it.
  • The gallery includes CGspoemsbackgroundssketches, and miscellaneous secrets.

Side Story-Related Images

To unlock these, you must complete the Side Stories. These become available by writing poems for each girl in Act 1:

  • Make three separate save files, and in each, focus entirely on one girl (Sayori, Yuri, or Natsuki).
  • Avoid completing Act 1 (stop before Sayori’s death—save before the festival).

This approach unlocks most CGs, side stories, and gallery entries tied to each girl’s route.

Poem Game and Word-Based Unlocks

  • Finish the poem minigame in under 20 seconds to unlock a speed-based image.
  • Click the word “kawaii” during the poem game.
  • Click “doki doki” during the poem game.
  • Click a corrupted word during Act 2.
  • Click the word “horror” during any poem game.

Perfect Poem Images

  • Write a poem where all 20 words are for one character.
  • One perfect poem per girl unlocks their respective image.

To do this, you’ll need a word list that shows which words match each girl. The in-game file homewords.txt helps, but online guides are more efficient.

Character-Specific Paths

Natsuki:

  • Write all three poems for her in one playthrough.
  • View her “Play With Me” glitch scene in Act 2 by writing your first two poems for her.

Sayori:

  • View her CGs by supporting her and saying “I love you.”
  • Try loading a save after her death to trigger a special image.

Yuri:

  • In her death scene, do not skip the weekend. Press A manually to advance the scene.

Secret Poems (Act 2)

  • Each Act 2 playthrough gives 3 out of 11 possible poems.
  • You’ll need to replay the game multiple times to collect all 11.
  • Randomness is involved, and duplicates can occur.

Bonus Secret:

  • Ghost Menu Image: During Act 2, there’s a 1 in 64 chance this screen appears when you launch the game. Keep closing and reopening until it happens (may take hundreds of tries).

Side Story Poems

  • Completing each side story grants you additional unique poems and CGs.
  • Once you have all a character’s poems, you unlock a final fourth poem for them.

Endgame Unlocks

  • Achieve the Good Ending by unlocking all CGs in Act 1 (3 per girl). This unlocks:
    • Dan Salvato’s letter.
    • Sayori’s President Message.
    • All credits CGs shown in full color.
  • Wait through Monika’s space scene until she loops into random dialogue topics.
    • Once available, press Skip for a special image.
  • After finishing the game once, unlock:
    • A second letter from Monika.
    • Mail communications (achieved by completing Side Stories).
  • Delete Monika’s character twice across two full playthroughs to unlock her final image.

Backgrounds

  • Most backgrounds unlock automatically by progressing through Act 1 and 2.
  • Side Story backgrounds unlock by completing each corresponding story.

Other Unique Unlocks

  • Ask both Sayori and Monika to help with the festival to unlock a special scene.
  • Delete Monika before starting a new game (not mid-game) for a glitch-style image.
  • Listen to 15 of Monika’s monologues in the space scene to earn a rare image.

Final Advice

  • Expect to replay the game at least 4–6 times to collect everything.
  • Keep your save files organized and named.
  • Save before major choices and critical scenes.
  • Use fast-forward options to breeze through repeated text.

Summary of the Hardest Images:

  1. Ghost Menu: 1 in 64 chance—keep restarting the game.
  2. All Secret Poems: Randomized per run.
  3. Monika’s Skip Scene: Must wait for monologue loop.
  4. Weekend with Yuri: No skipping allowed.

With patience, strategy, and a good checklist, unlocking the full image gallery in Doki Doki Literature Club Plus becomes a satisfying, meta-layered experience. Good luck, and enjoy the process—and the story—along the way.
