There’s something thrilling about unlocking secrets in Deathloop, and the Vampire trinket is one of the most rewarding hidden gems you can find. This trinket restores your health every time you deal damage—an incredible passive ability for aggressive playstyles. The process is a bit involved and requires several steps across different times of day, but with the right setup and planning, you’ll have this rare item infused into your loadout permanently.

All credit for discovering this sequence goes to the Deathloop community and Reddit user 7Matt7 for piecing it all together. Here’s how to do it yourself.

Step 1 – The Complex (Morning)

  • Head to The Complex in the morning.
  • Go to the generator building (the one that powers the Horizon bunkers).
  • Insert two batteries into the generators—just enough to open Carl’s Bay.
  • Divert power to Carl’s Bay only. You don’t need to activate the other regions.

Note: To do this, you must have progressed far enough in the main story to unlock the ability to redirect power using the Horizon code. If you haven’t reached this point yet, keep progressing in the story.

Once power is successfully routed to Carl’s Bay, you can leave The Complex.

Step 2 – Updaam (Noon)

Next, head to Updaam at noon.

  • Optional but recommended: Kill Charlie to increase “loop stress.”
  • To do this efficiently, go to the sniper’s nest through a window in Updaam.
  • Climb to the top floor, take out the Eternalists, and snipe Charlie for a clean kill.

This raises loop difficulty, increasing the quality of loot you’ll find in the evening.

Once Charlie is down, leave the area. That’s all you need from Updaam.

Step 3 – Carl’s Bay (Afternoon)

Now head to Carl’s Bay in the afternoon. There are two optional actions here:

  1. Sabotage Frank Spicer’s fireworks (optional, for increased loop stress).
  2. Go to the Horizon bunker and confirm the power is active.

You don’t need to do anything specific inside the bunker—just verify it’s open and powered. Once done, leave the area and prepare for the final step.

Step 4 – Carl’s Bay (Evening)

Now the real payoff begins. Return to Carl’s Bay in the evening.

  • Wait for Frank’s fireworks to go off, which kills him and increases loop stress further.
  • Head back to the Horizon bunker.
  • Clear out Eternalists and make your way inside.

You’ll find something unusual: a clone of Colt pacing inside the bunker. He won’t attack and can’t be killed by guns.

IMPORTANT: You must use your machete and perform a stealth assassination from behind. Shooting him won’t work.

When you successfully pull this off, he’ll drop loot. Among the drops will be the Vampire trinket.

Step 5 – Infuse and Keep It Forever

  • Make sure you have enough Residium to infuse the Vampire trinket (it’s rare tier).
  • Infuse the trinket before the loop ends, or you’ll lose it.

The Vampire trinket restores health when you deal damage to enemies—ideal for aggressive, melee-focused builds or anyone who prefers rushing into battle.

Extra Notes

  • This process does not require finishing the main story, but you must be able to redirect power.
  • Increasing loop stress by killing Visionaries like Charlie or Frank helps ensure better loot quality.
  • As of now, this leads to the rare version of the trinket. The exemplar version (if it exists) has not been confirmed—if you figure it out, share with the community!

Final Thoughts

The Vampire trinket is a fantastic addition to any Colt build—especially those focused on close-range chaos or high-output damage. Its discovery is a perfect example of Deathloop’s layered, secret-rich design, rewarding players who explore, experiment, and pay attention to the game’s environmental storytelling
