Gara is an exceptional Warframe, especially in defensive missions, and surprisingly accessible to new players. In fact, you can craft Gara before even reaching Mars. Unlike many other Warframes, which require repeated boss fights, crafting Gara involves various steps across multiple game mechanics. Here’s a comprehensive beginner’s guide on how to obtain her.

Step 1: Unlock the Gara Blueprint

  • Head to Cetus on Earth and talk to Konzu.
  • Begin the “Saya’s Vigil” quest.
  • Completing this quest will reward you with Gara’s Warframe blueprint and unlock bounty missions in the Plains of Eidolon.

Step 2: Get Gara’s Component Blueprints

  • Run Plains of Eidolon bounties to earn the Neuroptics, Chassis, and Systems blueprints.
  • These drop as uncommon rewards in tiers 1-3 bounties.
  • Set matchmaking to “Public” to get help from higher-level players.

Helpful Prep Work:

  • Complete the Vox Solaris quest from Fortuna.
  • Unlock the K-Drive (hoverboard) for faster travel.
  • Accumulate 2,500 Solaris United standing to buy better mining gear.

Step 3: Fishing for Charc Electroplax

  • Buy a fishing spear and Luminous Dye from Fisher Hai-Luk in Cetus.
  • Head to Gara Toht Lake in Solo mode.
  • Use dye and the spear to catch Charc Eels.
  • Return and choose “Cut Fish” to extract Charc Electroplax.

Step 4: Mining for Materials

  • Buy the Sunpoint Plasma Drill from Smokefinger in Fortuna for 2,500 standing.
  • Enter caves in the Plains of Eidolon and mine nodes using the drill.
  • Gather at least:
    • 100 Pyrol
    • 120 Coprun
    • 30 Tear Azurite
  • Purchase refining blueprints from Old Man Suumbaat in Cetus.
  • You must be Rank 1 with the Ostron to buy Coprite Alloy and Tear Azurite blueprints.

How to Rank Up Ostron Standing:

  • Provide Konzu with:
    • 10,000 Credits
    • 5,000 Ostron Standing
    • 25 each of Grokdrul, Iradite, and Maprico

Step 5: Refining Materials

  • Use the foundry to refine mined ores into alloys:
    • 90 Peronite Alloy
    • 120 Coprite Alloy
    • 25 Tear Azurite
  • For Peronite, you’ll need Cryotic.
    • Farm Cryotic by doing Excavation missions (e.g., Everest on Earth).

Step 6: Farming Cetus Wisps

  • Needed: 2 for Gara’s Chassis.
  • Wisps spawn near water during both day and night (easier at night).
  • Use your K-Drive to circle Gara Toht Lake and grab any wisps you find.
  • If none spawn, re-enter the Plains and try again.

Step 7: Farming Orokin Cells

  • You need 3 Orokin Cells to craft Gara.
  • Best farm location: Assassination mission on Ceres (Exta).
    • Multiple cell drop chances from enemies and bosses.
  • Alternative (but slower) methods:
    • Rare bounty reward
    • Login bonus
    • Bosses on Mercury and Venus (2.5% drop rate)

Final Step: Crafting Gara

  • Once you have the Neuroptics, Chassis, and Systems crafted, and all required materials, use the foundry to begin crafting Gara.
  • Crafting will take 72 hours (3 days).

While you wait, celebrate with a dance and prepare to wreak havoc with your powerful new glass warrior. You’ve earned it, Tenno!

Bonus Tip:

  • This method not only gets you Gara early, it also introduces you to multiple Warframe systems including standing, bounties, open-world exploration, and crafting special materials. Use this experience to prepare for future Warframe farms!
