Outriders has a lot of systems that aren’t clearly explained, but learning them early will make your journey far more efficient and enjoyable. From auto-looting to crafting, combat tactics, and optimal inventory management, this guide covers it all.
1. Enable Auto-Loot (Immediately) Navigate to the options menu and under the Gameplay tab, set the “Auto Loot Minimum Rarity” to Common. This lets you press one button (Down on D-Pad or H on keyboard) to collect every item in the vicinity, even across large zones. Loot also includes resources, and it works for your entire co-op party—only one person needs to access a chest for all players to auto-loot it.
2. Manage Your Inventory Wisely
- Items picked up via auto-loot will go to your stash if your inventory is full.
- If the stash is also full, items will be scrapped automatically. Always make space before venturing out.
3. Dismantle vs. Sell
- Sell green gear. It offers no perks, making it ideal for gaining scrap.
- Dismantle blue gear to unlock perks in your mod library. Mods can be applied later via crafting.
4. Smart Crafting Tips
- Don’t invest in leveling up or rarity upgrades for early gear—it’s not worth the cost.
- Do replace item mods using the crafting system. It’s inexpensive and gives a major edge in combat.
- Note: Once you change one mod on an item, the other mod slot becomes locked.
5. Understand Mod Management
- Mods already unlocked show a red duplicate icon.
- Use the “Mark All” option in your inventory, uncheck items with unlocked mods, and dismantle the rest to gain new mods and resources.
6. Shop Smart
- Save your scrap until endgame.
- Only buy epic gear with exceptional mods to dismantle for perk unlocking.
7. Combat Efficiency
- Skip reloads by running to a restock box, which auto-refills your magazine.
- Interrupt boss abilities with your own skills. Not all enemy abilities are interruptible, but most major AOE attacks and healing spells can be.
- If no ability is ready, melee can also interrupt certain abilities.
8. Master Cooldown Sharing and Coordination
- In co-op, coordinate interrupts for better efficiency, especially in monster hunts.
9. Repeat Content for Rewards
- Story bosses can be replayed via the lobby.
- Revisit older zones for new targets and missions like hunts and manhunts.
- Side missions are also repeatable and may reward you with legendaries.
10. Save Your World Tier Rewards
- Don’t claim them immediately—rewards scale to your current level.
- Wait until you’re level 30 to claim them for the best possible loot.
Final Thoughts Outriders becomes a lot more rewarding once you master its hidden systems. Save resources, unlock powerful perks through dismantling, and always keep an eye out for repeatable content. Stay agile in combat, coordinate in co-op, and your journey through Enoch will be that much smoother.
