Upgrading your Cyberdeck in The Ascent is essential for hacking higher-tier doors, chests, and gaining access to powerful loot. There are more upgrades available than you need—only nine are required to max out your Cyberdeck. Here’s a complete rundown of all known Cyberdeck upgrade locations, listed in recommended order.

1. Cluster 13 (Armor Shop)

• Go to the Armor Shop in Cluster 13
• Head up the stairs on the left and proceed all the way to the back
• Find the Cyberdeck Upgrade waiting there

2. Grinder (No Man’s Land)

• During the Mutual Dependencies mission
• As you reach No Man’s Land, look for the building with stairs
• Head up, cross the rooftop, and open the red chest at the far end

3. Coder’s Cove (Trading Places Mission)

• After talking to Noghead, you’ll enter Coder’s Cove
• The Cyberdeck Upgrade is just behind a door in that area

4. CorpZone (Disintegrator Shop Route)

• Enemies are Level 20+, so prep evasion and health if under-leveled
• Follow the path from the Disintegrator vendor (guide link recommended)
• Take elevators down and head left
• Around the back corner is a chest beside a bike with the upgrade inside

5. Cosmodrome (Mission-Dependent or Post-High Street Access)

• Enter the first doorway and veer left
• Enemies are around Level 15, dodge or defeat as needed
• Use ICE 1 to open a locked door at the end
• Go left again to the back and open the red chest for your upgrade

6. Night Road (Post ICE 2 Access)

• Return here after unlocking ICE 2
• Follow the pathway into a building with a locked door
• Inside is a red chest with another Cyberdeck Upgrade

7. The Glut Prison (Side Mission: Prison Break)

• Accept the Prison Break side mission from an NPC near the Node elevator
• Return to The Glut transit station, the prison right behind will now be open
• Head through to the turret area and find the upgrade on a desk

8. Data Miner Mission (Unmissable)

• During the Data Miner mission
• Found automatically next to a chest on the critical path before a boss area

---

9. Trace Protocol (Security Office + X-MAP Building)

• First, during Trace Protocol, find Lanier, then go to the Security Office – the upgrade is on the ground inside
• Later, in the X-MAP Building, before activating the back computer, go left to find another Cyberdeck Upgrade

10. The Pinnacle (Final Area)

• In the Pinnacle, head to the far side of the zone
• In a garden area, go right to a bench where the final Cyberdeck Upgrade awaits

• You only need 9 upgrades to fully max your Cyberdeck.
• If you get a “Maxed Out” message on later pickups, it means you’ve already hit the cap.
