Welcome back, tacticians! After sharing an initial round of tips for Triangle Strategy, many of you chimed in with your own strategies and suggestions—and after testing some of them, I’m back with a fresh lineup of tactics that can seriously upgrade your battlefield performance.

This guide dives deeper into tactical tools like Quietus abilities, positioning theory, early battle setups, and character-specific combos. Let’s get into it.

1. Quietus Points: Unlock, Equip, and Actually Use Them

A few hours into Triangle Strategy, you’ll gain access to the Quietus system at your encampment’s Sundry Shop. These abilities, purchased with Quietus Points, can be activated by pressing X during any unit’s turn. Yet many players forget they exist.

You shouldn’t. Quietus abilities are essentially battlefield cheats when used correctly:

  • Fleet of Foot: Boosts the movement range of all units. Fantastic for early positioning.
  • In Tandem: Allows a selected unit to act immediately after the current one. This is pivotal for the combos we’ll cover below.
  • Critical Blow, Lightwave, and more offer powerful, situational effects.

Make it a habit to check the Quietus menu when planning combos or clutch maneuvers.

2. Hold Choke Points & Use Terrain to Your Advantage

When maps offer narrow spaces, make use of choke points. Plant a tank like Erador to block the way, then let your archers and mages rain destruction from above or behind. High ground not only increases range but also boosts damage for certain attacks.

Don’t push forward if you can force enemies to come to you.

3. Sprint First, Provoke Later

When opening a battle with Erador, have him use Sprint rather than jumping into Provoke. While he won’t taunt on turn one, the added movement lets him reach enemies quickly. Most foes will target him anyway if no one else is in range, so this approach sets you up for a Provoke next turn while securing ideal positioning.

4. Level Up Low-Stat Units Using Vanguard Scarf + In Tandem

Trying to level up a weak unit? Use the following combo:

  1. Equip Vanguard Scarf on the unit you want to train. This guarantees they act first.
  2. On their first turn, take any action—attack, buff, or heal.
  3. Use In Tandem to give them a second action.
  4. When Benedict gets his turn, use Now on the unit to give them a third action.

Even better: in a mock battle, quit after gaining XP, and repeat. This stacks EXP gains rapidly, especially for underused supports.

5. Opening Fire Trap Strategy – Buff and Bait

Here’s a battlefield trick that’s essentially turn-one battlefield domination:

  1. Equip Vanguard Scarf on Benedict.
  2. On his first turn, use Now on Frederica.
  3. Use In Tandem on Erador.
  4. Frederica casts Flame Shield on Erador.
  5. Erador marches forward and Provokes nearby enemies.

Enemies will swarm Erador, receive counter damage from Flame Shield, and be stuck in place while your team takes them apart. You can delay this to turn 2 for wider taunt coverage.

6. Follow-Up Attack Guarantee With Now + Positioning

Want to secure a quick kill? Set up a guaranteed follow-up strike with critical backstab:

  • Use Now on a powerful melee unit (e.g. Serenoa, Roland).
  • Move Benedict in front of an enemy.
  • Send your attacker behind that enemy.

This setup delivers a backstab (for a crit) and a follow-up from Benedict, often enough to finish off squishier targets.

7. Triple AoE Spell Combo With Veteran Mages

Massive thanks to the community for this brilliant spell burst strategy:

  1. Equip Vanguard Scarf on a mage with 4 TP.
  2. First turn: cast AoE spell.
  3. Use Now from Benedict, cast again.
  4. When Julio gets his turn, use In Tandem on your mage.
  5. Julio uses Finish Them to refill TP.
  6. Mage casts third AoE.

If your speed stats are high enough, this decimates entire waves before the enemy moves.

8. Modified Spell Burst Combo (Low-Speed Friendly)

If your Benedict and Julio aren’t fast enough, don’t worry:

  • Vanguard Scarf on your mage.
  • Cast spell.
  • Use In Tandem on Benedict to act next.
  • Benedict uses Now on the mage.
  • Mage casts again.

This two-spell version still lets you cripple or wipe out enemy clusters on turn one.

9. Preview Enemy Info and Turn Order

Many overlook this, but you can press Y when hovering over an enemy to view their stats, resistances, and weaknesses.

Even more important: press Y on an empty tile to see the upcoming turn order. Knowing exactly who will move and when is critical for:

  • Deciding which enemies to prioritize
  • Predicting follow-up attacks
  • Coordinating buffs or heals

10. Convictions and Persuasion Mechanics

Triangle Strategy’s Conviction System isn’t just narrative fluff—it affects your ability to persuade allies during Scales of Conviction votes.

Each dialogue or decision option correlates with a hidden value:

  • Green = Morality
  • Yellow = Utility
  • Red = Liberty

Choosing certain types of answers consistently builds Serenoa’s affinity in that domain. When you try to convince a party member to change their vote during a decision, having high affinity with the corresponding conviction increases your success rate.

So, be mindful in conversations—even outside vote chapters—as they shape your access to future story branches.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, Triangle Strategy is packed with tactical depth beyond surface-level mechanics. By combining Quietus points with positioning, movement order manipulation, and targeted XP gains, you can dominate even the hardest maps with precision.

Thanks again to the players who shared these strategies. If you’ve got new tactics or combat tech, drop them in the comments and keep the conversation going.

Until next time—stay sharp, and may your convictions guide you to victory.
