Welcome back to another Live A Live guide. This time, we’re focusing on the Present Day chapter—arguably the most straightforward and combat-focused portion of the game. Unlike the more story-driven chapters, the Present chapter drops all exploration and narrative in favor of pure, back-to-back battles. Think of it like Street Fighter meets JRPG: it’s all about learning techniques, managing your positioning, and mastering counterplay.
While most enemies teach you one or two abilities upon defeat, there’s a special third ability you can learn from Jackie, the sixth and final opponent in this chapter. This move, World Breaker’s Wrath, is incredibly powerful—but also incredibly rare. In this guide, we’ll walk through the conditions to get Jackie to use it and how to ensure you can learn it safely.
Quick Recap: Who Is Jackie?
Jackie is the sixth opponent in the Present Day chapter. He normally uses two abilities:
- Aloha Slap (Wind element)
- Mano Toss (Thrust element)
These are both solid abilities that can be learned without much issue. But hidden in Jackie’s move pool is the devastating World Breaker’s Wrath, an Earth-elemental ability that doesn’t appear in every fight and requires specific conditions to trigger.
How to Trigger World Breaker’s Wrath
The trick to getting Jackie to use this secret move lies in the way you restrict his usual combat options. The goal is to limit his ability to use his standard attacks so that he’s more likely to fall back on World Breaker’s Wrath. This is done using grappling techniques learned earlier in the chapter from Tula Han, the Russian fighter.
You’ll need:
- Cross Heel Hold
- Arm Lock
These grapples have a chance to lock Jackie’s ability to use certain types of moves. For example, using Cross Heel Holdcan disable his more agile techniques.
Here’s how you do it:
- Approach Jackie and use Cross Heel Hold. You may have to do this multiple times.
- Alternate with Arm Lock to further restrict his move pool.
- Once Jackie’s usual moves are locked out, keep your distance and watch his charge bar.
Eventually, you’ll see his action bar begin to charge unusually, a signal that he’s preparing World Breaker’s Wrath. When you see that bar start filling up, do not interrupt it—just wait it out.
He’ll unleash World Breaker’s Wrath, which hits very hard. You’ll need to survive it to successfully learn it. This is where healing and defensive positioning come in.
Staying Alive During the Fight
Jackie’s secret move is not only rare—it’s also lethal. You’ll need to manage your health carefully and keep some distance to recover using Focus or movement. Since there are no items in this chapter, healing has to come from your abilities and tactics.
Be patient. After multiple cycles of grappling, dodging, and healing, Jackie will eventually fire off World Breaker’s Wrath. Once you survive it and the fight concludes, the move will be added to your learned ability list.
Why World Breaker’s Wrath Matters
This Earth-elemental move does massive area damage and is one of the strongest attacks available in the Present chapter. If you’re planning to carry skills into later encounters or simply want the satisfaction of collecting every learnable move, this one is a must.
You may have noticed some enemies being weak to Earth earlier, and wondered why—this move is the reason.
Final Thoughts
The Present chapter is deceptively simple in structure, but holds powerful secrets if you dig deep enough. Learning World Breaker’s Wrath is tricky and time-consuming, but absolutely worth the effort. Grapple, disable, dodge, heal, and wait for your moment. Once Jackie unleashes it and you walk away standing—you’ll carry one of the strongest techniques the chapter has to offer.
