In a gaming world flooded with gritty shooters and ultra-competitive strategy titles, Fall Guys is the brightly colored breath of fresh air we didn’t know we needed. Equal parts chaotic, adorable, and hilariously unpredictable, it throws you—along with 59 other beans—into a neon-colored obstacle course reminiscent of Takeshi’s Castle or Wipeout. What follows is a series of elimination-based mini-games where your goal is simple: survive the mayhem and be the last one standing.

This guide is your comprehensive introduction to mastering Fall Guys. From movement basics to the quirks of individual maps, we’ll walk you through everything you need to earn your first crown.

Getting Started: The Basics of Being a Bean

Before we dive into specific maps and strategies, let’s start with the fundamentals. Controls in Fall Guys are straightforward, but their mastery is what separates the amateurs from the pros. Always run at full speed unless the situation calls for patience. Jump to clear obstacles and gaps. Use dive to extend your jump or to recover balance while midair. Keep in mind that falling from too high knocks you down, and steep slopes will send you sliding. Bumping into other players or being bumped by them will also drop you flat. Finally, remember that your grab isn’t just for affection—it’s a tactical tool used for stealing, sabotaging, and sometimes survival.

Map Mastery: Survival of the Most Playful

Fall Guys features over 20 maps, each with a unique twist. Some are solo tests of platforming, others team-based brawls of cooperation and betrayal. Here’s how to dominate each one.

The Whirligig – A mix of spinning bars, massive fans, and chaos. The butter stick bars early on trip up many. Stay calculated here. Later, when choosing the path at the three-way fork, left and right are safer routes, while the middle is faster but risky. If you go center, aim for the left side of the last windmill—space is tighter than it looks.

Seesaw – A physics-based race where being early means everything. The later you arrive, the harder it gets. Drop, don’t jump, onto seesaws when the slope looks dicey—jumping increases the chance of sliding off. Patience really is a virtue here.

Dizzy Heights – Spinning platforms dominate. Let the spin help you, even if it means momentarily going backward. Fighting the direction wastes time. Advanced players can look for shortcuts, but the key is flow.

Doordash – Trial and error reigns. Fake doors won’t open. If you’re at the front, take the risk and bash into a door. If you’re behind, follow the opening and prepare to dive through crowds. Crowd surfing over the mob can save you from getting trampled.

Gatecrash – Time your movement by running toward gates that are currently up—by the time you reach them, they’ll be down. Many make the mistake of heading for already open gates and get blocked.

Tail Tag – Whether solo or team-based, the goal is to have a tail when time’s up. Use conveyor belts and hammers for quick getaways. My personal favorite move: the 180 jump juke. As someone grabs you, spin, jump, and dash away—often enough to keep your tail.

Roll Out – Stay calm and transition smoothly between rollers. Don’t underestimate how far you can go before falling—test the limits. If you’re feeling daring, grab transitioning players and send them flying.

Oopsy Daisy – Team-based ring jumping chaos. Choose a corner and guard it. Don’t chase—wait for the ring to come to you. Always prioritize golden rings—they’re a game-changer.

Egg Scramble – Grab eggs, defend your basket. Early on, focus on hoarding as many eggs as possible. Once supplies dwindle, decide: defend or go on the offensive. Toss eggs from enemy baskets rather than carrying them—quicker and still effective. Target the weakest team for sabotage.

Block Party – Survival is about smart movement and spacing. Don’t just jump when a low barrier comes—make sure you have a clean landing spot. Clashing mid-air with another player can send you tumbling off.

Hoarders – Push balls into your team’s zone and guard them. Get behind the ball and aim to angle it away from enemies. A classic “three and defend” strategy often wins. Again, ganging up on the weakest team is valid and effective.

Perfect Match – Memory meets peer pressure. Memorize tile patterns before they vanish. But here’s the trick: stand confidently on the wrong tile and bait the crowd. Then jump to the right tile at the last second. Sabotage has never been so sweet.

Slime Climb – The pressure cooker. The rising slime forces speed, but precision is key. Use bounce pads to skip sections. If you’re about to get hit by an obstacle, slow down—better to take a bump than be tossed into slime.

Rock and Roll – Team push game. Have one or two lead the ball, others follow and dive to accelerate. Sabotage at the end is viable—block others while your team finishes.

Jump Club – Two rotating bars. The lower one is lethal. Prioritize avoiding it over the upper one. As speed increases, jumping timing becomes everything.

Fall Ball – Football with jellybeans. Have designated defenders. The best hit is made as the ball descends—get under it and jump for maximum distance.

Jinxed – Avoid infection or spread it. The central pit is a trap—steer clear. Use wrecking balls for chaotic movement and leverage momentum to chase or escape.

Tip Toe – Hidden tiles make for careful movement. Early in the game, it’s okay to fall and scout. Don’t hesitate—boldness pays off.

Fruit Shoot – Dodge giant fruit on a conveyor belt. Hug the sides to reduce hits. Advanced trick? Push rivals into the path of incoming bananas. Yes, it’s as satisfying as it sounds.

Hit Parade – Many routes to fail. Choose rollers up top or drop down early. Rotate with the platforms’ movement, and use donut stacks to bounce your way up the final hill.

Hex-A-Gone – An intense endurance test. Either clear tiles aggressively to trap others below or move carefully and extend your time. Don’t dive unless you must—it reduces your ability to recover.

Fall Mountain – The final showdown. Race up, dodge balls, and time your final jump perfectly. Grab the crown only when you’re close enough—mistiming it loses you the win. Consider the far sides as potential paths—less crowded and less chaotic.

Crowning Glory

There’s no honor among beans in Fall Guys—only determination, timing, and a bit of trickery. Whether you sabotage at perfect match or crowd surf through doordash, your path to the crown is yours to create. Keep calm in chaos, learn each map’s rhythm, and don’t be afraid to try bold plays. Victory might come when you least expect it.
